WOODBURY - A Haitian teen who was brought to the U.S. for heart surgery is set to return home Saturday.

Lovely Ajuste was brought to Long Island by several local rotary clubs and the Gift of Life program. Ajuste, who lives in a tent in the destroyed hills overlooking Port Au Prince, was slowly dying from a hole in her heart.

Eddy Marc-Charles, who belongs to the Merrick-Freeport Rotary Club, says he has served as a guardian for Ajuste and her mother, and is saddened to think of what they will return to in Haiti.

Rotary club members from Northport and Greenport are escorting Adjuste and her mother to Haiti and will spend a week there providing solar panels for a clinic that was left in the dark after the earthquake.
