EAST MEADOW - A Hagerman firefighter is fighting for his life as he battles a flesh-eating bacteria.First Lt. Ralph Lettieri Jr., 26, is struggling with double pneumonia and a flesh-eating bacteria at Nassau University Medical Center, according to his father.He'll likely be treated surgically to remove any affected skin. Then he'll be given IV antibiotics and will be treated with oxygen therapy in the hospital's hyperbaric chamber.Lettieri has been a volunteer firefighter at the Hagerman Fire Department where his dad is an ex-chief since he was 18 years old.
