PORT WASHINGTON - When Emily Rosenthal lost her grandfather to Alzheimer's disease two years ago, she decided to use her soccer skills to help raise money to find a cure.

She started Score for a Cure, which raises money every time the varsity girl's team at Schreiber High School scores a goal. Emily is the team captain.

"For every goal my team scores, someone pledges to donate money, whether it be $10, $25, $5 even," says Rosenthal.
