MASSAPEQUA - A Queens high school teacher from Long Island is accused of raping a student.

Officials say Joy Morsi, 39, of Massapequa, was a physical education teacher at Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood when she began a relationship with a 16-year-old.

Morsi was arraigned on a criminal complaint charging her with 20 counts of third-degree rape, 20 counts of third-degree criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to officials, Morsi engaged in sexual relations with the male student in the basement and other locations inside of the high school on multiple occasions between June 5, 2013 and July 24, 2013.

Bail was set at $25,000 and Morsi is due back in court on June 23.

If convicted, Morsi faces up to four years in prison.
