HUNTINGTON - Residents and a non-profit group in Huntington came together tonight to spread awareness about prescription drug and heroin use on Long Island.

Susan Roethel, the mother of a girl who overdosed on heroin in May, started a movement with a group of friends. They were joined by the non-profit 'Fallen on Long Island' to educate and speak with parents about the growing trend.

Organizers say they not only want to raise awareness in the community, but also want to raise money for kids to get the help they need. Nassau task force urges action to combat LI drug epidemic
