LIDO BEACH - A groundbreaking ceremony was held today in honor of three Camp Anchor counselors who were killed on their way to work last summer.
The multipurpose Malone-Mulhall Recreation Center was named in memory of sisters Jamie and Paige Malone and Michael Mulhall. The counselors were killed in a car crash last July on the Meadowbrook Parkway.
Mulhall?s mother says she can't think of a better way for the kids to be remembered.
A $6 million donation from the Town of Hempstead helped pay for the construction.
