MONTAUK - A Stony Brook man overcame great obstacles to compete in a Montauk triathlon.

Greg Durso, of Stony Brook, was paralyzed four years ago in a skiing accident on New Year's Day, but he hasn't let that stop him. The 28-year-old competed in the MightyMan Half Iron Distance Triathlon in Montauk.

Durso crossed the finish line with a time of seven hours, 25 minutes and 33 seconds.

Next year, Durso says he plans to compete in the full Ironman in Lake Placid.
