GREENLAWN - For one Greenlawn family, this year?s Thanksgiving celebration has been marred by the loss of a son who died last month following a hit-and-run accident.

As News 12 Long Island has reported, 22-year-old Eric Dennis died Oct. 7 after succumbing to his injuries, which he suffered when he was hit by a car on South Country Road in East Patchogue.

The driver of the car stopped immediately to check on Dennis and stayed at the scene. However, just moments later, a second vehicle, described as a light-colored SUV, ran over Dennis. That vehicle never stopped.

Dennis was the father of three children, and now the mother of his kids is expecting twins.
