WOODBURY - Gov. Andrew Cuomo has responded to the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School by saying that he hopes the senseless tragedy will prompt government officials to crack down on guns.
In his statement, Cuomo also said that every New Yorker should be standing with the people of Connecticut to help them grieve the loss of life, and help bear the pain that will endure for months and years to come.
Sen. Charles Schumer echoed the governor's sentiments, saying that he hopes the tragedy will bring people together.
