LINDENHURST - Two good Samaritans saved the life of a woman trapped in a burning home in Lindenhurst tonight.

More than 80 firefighters responded to the house fire on River Street, which officials say started on the second floor and spread quickly because of wind.

Lindenhurst Fire Chief Jim Gallagher says two friends who were boating in the Great South Bay saw the fire and helped an elderly woman, who was on oxygen get out of the house.

Officials say two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
