MASSAPEQUA - Several Good Samaritans who jumped into action to help a woman who was being stabbed this morning are being credited with saving her life. Police say the violent attack happened in an SUV that was parked in strip mall parking lot in Massapequa. Some passers-by heard a woman's screams coming from a silver Honda CR-V. Reports indicate that several men broke the car's back window to get the woman out. Former Navy reservist Roman Martin, of Amityville, says he spotted the injured woman standing in the parking lot. He says she had several stab wounds to her right side and her left breast. Martin says he laid her down and applied pressure to her wounds. A man was also stabbed in the attack. Some reports say that the man started stabbing himself, but police have not confirmed that information. The incident is still under investigation and police say they're looking at the possibility that it was a domestic dispute. The man is at Nassau University Medical Center in serious condition, and the woman is listed in stable condition. It's unclear if anyone has been charged in the attack.
