STONY BROOK - A 10-year-old Mastic girl is recovering this morning thanks to a quick thinking Good Samaritan and some hero police officers.

Officials say Alana Kiceina collapsed in her driveway and was choking on chips when the rescuers sprang into action.

Shawn Mitchell administered CPR to Alana at her Abbott Avenue home yesterday afternoon.

Alana was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center and is listed in critical condition.
