NORTHPORT - Monday's rain didn't stop Long Islanders from hitting the links in Northport for a good cause.

The event marked the 12th annual Golf Outing for Angela's House, and it was held at Indian Hills Country Club. Organizers say 130 golfers attended the event to raise money for the organization that helps medically frail children and their families.

Bob Pollicastro founded Angela's House after his 1-year-old daughter died from medical complications. She would have been 25 years old this summer.

Pollicastro says the organization is now working with 600 kids. "We are the ones who fill that void when the insurance company says no," he says.

The organization expected to raise about $40,000 from the golf event.
