GARDEN CITY - Soldiers overseas will be getting a special delivery of 1 million cookies from the Girl Scouts in Nassau County.

After a special ceremony featuring the Nassau Police Honor Guard and Pipe Band, 50,000 boxes of the treats were escorted to JFK Airport. The cookies are due to arrive in Northeast Africa by the end of the week.

"We can give back, too," said scout Katie Genari. "They give so much to our country."
