THE BRONX - New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi reflected on the team's failed attempt to win another World Series championship.

The Yankees won 97 games during the regular season but were knocked out of the playoffs by the Detroit Tigers because of what Girardi says was a line-up that was not good enough and not lucky enough.

Girardi says the team's problem was pitching and not hitting.

The team now faces more possible offseason moves, including Jorge Posada, who could become the first of the core four Yankees to be forced out the door.
