WOODBURY - As kids across the Island head back to school this fall, parents are tasked with stocking up on school supplies and cutting-edge gadgets. News 12's Elisa DiStefano teamed up with Newsday for a look at some fun supplies and great tech finds for kids to head back to school with.

Going back to school means a lot of hard work, so why not help your kids take a break once and a while with Scribble Stuff's sports-themed pencil and eraser sets. Or you can doll up any ordinary pencil with Happy Charmz pencil jewelry.

If you've got a 'My Little Pony' or 'Adventure Time' fan at home, check out Mimobot's flash drives designed after some of the shows' characters.

And a blast from the past is making a comeback! Slap bracelets that double as rulers are not only a fun fashion accessory but also a useful school supply.

For all you parents with tech savvy kids at home, we've got some of the coolest back-to-school gadgets for this year.

A color-coded keyboard can help kids learn essential computer skills. While Leap Frog learning tools, such as the Leapreader, are fun ways to engage kids who are learning how to read and write.

‘SpongeBob SquarePants' fans would be delighted with a new speaker designed to look like Plankton.  And if you want a little peace and quiet, check out House of Marley Positive Vibration headphones.  They're made using recyclable materials and proceeds are donated to 1Love.org.
