RIVERHEAD - Police say the man who hopped a fence at Pine Tree Day Nursery in Riverhead and grabbed a little boy’s hand has been arrested.

According to police, Gemler Ramos, of Riverhead, was arrested this morning. Ramos is accused of trespassing.

Investigators say a witness to the incident spotted Ramos on Railroad Avenue today and led them to him.

The incident took place Tuesday at the school. According to police, a teacher slapped Ramos until the toddler was safe.
