SYOSSET - Friends, family and loved ones gathered Friday to pay respects to a nun who was killed by a hit-and-run driver on the East End.

The wake for Sister Jackie Walsh was held at St. Edward the Confessor Church in Syosset.

Walsh was killed Monday while attending a religious retreat in Water Mill. After the accident, police found the vehicle involved.

Investigators say they know who the driver is and are working to track him down. They also say the vehicle was never reported stolen.

A funeral Mass will be held Saturday.
