Funeral held for NYPD detective killed in Afghanistan

MANHATTAN - Friends and family gave their final salute to the NYPD detective, National Guardsman, husband and father killed in Afghanistan last week.

Joseph Lemm was laid to rest today.

The National Guard sergeant was one of six killed in a Taliban suicide attack days before Christmas.

Hundreds paid their respects yesterday at Lemm’s wake in Westchester.

Thousands of fellow officers lined the streets to attend Lemm’s funeral at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Manhattan.

Lemm was buried in Westchester.
