WANTAGH - A group of Wantagh residents says power has been going out in the neighborhood repeatedly.

Dennis Menichino says he has two generators in his garage as backups — which have come in handy 14 times so far this year.

"This has been going on a real long time," Menichino says. "The big problem is that it's only this side of the block. We can lose electric. We can be out for days. And across the street they have electric."

Neighbors say they've filed numerous complaints with PSEG to no avail. They say the utility company has blamed the issues on trees in the area.

Neighbors say they don't believe that excuse because the power can fail on days where the weather is calm and there is no wind.

They also complain that their utility bills are increasing while the service goes on without improvement.
