Free Narcan training offered in Nassau

Adelphi University and Nassau County offered free Narcan training Thursday.

The training will show how to recognize and prevent an overdose by administering the treatment.

GARDEN CITY - Adelphi University and Nassau County offered free Narcan training Thursday.

Narcan can reverse the effects of a heroin or painkiller overdose. Those who took part in the training learned how to recognize and prevent an overdose by administering the treatment.

A 2006 law allows ordinary people to administer Narcan to try and save a life, without fear of liability.
