A Franklin Square woman says she is learning first-hand just how generous Long Islanders can be after receiving several calls from residents looking to help

FRANKLIN SQUARE - A Franklin Square woman says she is learning first-hand just how generous Long Islanders can be after receiving several calls from residents looking to help after learning her wheelchair ramp was stolen.

The past Sunday, someone stole the wheelchair ramp off Kerry Aalbue's front porch.

Aalbue suffers from arthritis that is so severe that she is confined to a wheelchair.  She is also being treated for a brain tumor.

After News 12 Long Island's report on the theft, Aalbue is getting a new wheelchair ramp, courtesy of the Fealgood Foundation.  Several other viewers also called to donate a new ramp.
