MINEOLA - The trial of former New York Yankee Rusty Torres continued Monday as one of his alleged sexual abuse victims testified in Mineola.

One of the girls accusing Torres of inappropriately touching her during a baseball lesson at Hebrew Academy of Nassau County in Plainview took the stand. Assistant District Attorney D.J. Rosenbaum claims Torres would intentionally bump up against the 8-year-old. He says in one incident, he took her into a van and exposed himself.

The defense questioned the alleged victim about the incident in the van behind the school.

Part of the testimony in the trial was as follows:

Defense Attorney: "Coach took you into the van?"

Alleged victim:  "I think."

Defense Attorney: "And he closed the doors?"

Alleged victim:  "I think."

Defense Attorney: "And he showed you his private parts?"

Alleged victim: "Yeah."

Defense Attorney Troy Smith claims the line of questioning related to the alleged van incident brought out some major inconsistencies in the girl's story.

"In her statement to police, she says that the van doors were facing the back of the school and now she's saying the van was facing the other way."

Both sides were back in court Tuesday.
