MINEOLA - A former Nassau County police officer will avoid jail time after pleading guilty to misconduct charges for seeing his mistresses while he was supposed to be patrolling the streets.

Retired Officer Michael Tedesco pleaded guilty to more than 70 misconduct charges. In exchange, 29 felony charges against him were dismissed.

Prosecutors say GPS records show Tedesco, a married father of two, spent a lot of time at the homes of his two mistresses while he was supposed to be working.

Tedesco will have to complete 100 hours of community service in the next 10 months. His attorney says his pension will stay intact, but he will have to forfeit his severance pay.
