NEW YORK - It is Fleet Week in New York City. 

Today, the United States Marine Corps is hosting Marine Day in Bryant Park featuring a boot camp style exercise session, followed by USMC displays, demonstrations and a performance by the USMC Band. 

The event is free and open to the public. 

Fleet Week New York, now in its 27th year, is the city's celebration of the sea services. 

The weeklong celebration has been held nearly every year since 1984, and it is anticipated that nearly 1,800 sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen will participate this year.
