BAY SHORE - A fireworks extravaganza lit up the Great South Bay tonight in celebration of the nation's 235th birthday.
Produced by Grucci Fireworks, this year's Go 4th on the Bay show featured more than 6,000 effects choreographed to patriotic music. The display included a wide array of pyrotechnics, including Chrysanthemums and split comets.
More than 10,000 people packed the shores to enjoy the 19-minute show.
