FBI: Vincent Calamia may have been sexually abusing children as far back as 1982
FLORAL PARK - New information released by the FBI alleges that a Floral Park bar owner may have been sexually abusing teens for longer than initially thought.
Federal agents say new developments in their investigation show that Calamia may have been sexually abusing children as early as 1982, two decades earlier than they originally thought.
The new information could mean that there are more alleged victims than previously believed.
As News 12 reported, the 59-year-old co-owner of Frankie and Vinnie's bar was arrested last week. Prosecutors say he sodomized boys as young as 15 years old, recorded the acts and distributed the videos in the U.S. and abroad.
Prosecutors say detectives seized over 50 DVDs from Calamia's home, as well as several computers, cameras and other electronic equipment.
If convicted, he could serve up to 30 years in prison for each victim.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation is urged to call the FBI’s 24-hour hotline at 212-384-1000.
