FBI: Alleged gang members arrested in Rockville Centre raid

MELVILLE - The FBI says 14 alleged gang members were arrested during a drug bust in Rockville Centre.

The suspects appeared before a judge today in federal court in Central Islip. Officials say the men, some of which are suspected Bloods members, have been controlling crack-cocaine and heroin distribution in the area.

The FBI says the raid followed a four-month joint investigation with Nassau County and Rockville Centre police departments. They say wiretaps were used to listen in as the suspects bought and sold large quantities of cocaine out of a housing development on Old Mill Court.

The men have all been remanded into court custody and face a minimum of 10 years in prison if convicted on drug-trafficking charges. A future court date has not yet been set.
