FARMINGDALE - Students at Howitt Middle School in Farmingdale took their science lesson to new heights, throwing eggs out of their classroom window to see if they could land while remaining intact.

The 7th-graders experimented with different ways to support the eggs, wrapping them in bags and paper and cushioning them in boxes. The packages were then thrown onto the pavement from their science classroom's third-story window.

The students were divided into teams to drop the six eggs, with some of the eggs surviving the drop.
