WOODBURY - The family of a 75-year-old school bus driver who was killed by a hit-and-run driver is pleading for the driver to come forward.

Sebaptiste Augustin was walking to work last week around 5 a.m. on West John Street in Hicksville. Augustin was walking in the street because the sidewalks were covered with snow. He was struck by a vehicle and left bleeding in a snowbank for almost an hour before someone found him.

"I'm speaking out today because I believe that maybe somebody out there saw something or heard something," says Hans Augustin, the victim's son.

The only cameras in the area are red-light cameras, and they were facing in another direction.

Augustin left behind his wife and four children.

Anyone with information is urged to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
