PORT WASHINGTON - A little boy is recovering after his family says he was mauled by a dog on a Port Washington school playground. The parents of 6-year-old Andrew Esposito just filed a $30 million lawsuit against the owners, claiming the Labrador mix knocked the boy down and viciously attacked him. The family says Andrew lost part of his ear in the attack. The Espositos say the incident happened back on May 18 while Andrew was playing at John Philip Sousa Elementary School. They say the animal, named Archie, is known around the neighborhood as vicious. The suit says there are several signs prohibiting dogs on school grounds. The owners of the dog, doctors Michael and Deborah Levine, declined to talk to News 12 Long Island. A neighbor says they are upstanding people and that the dog doesn't seem vicious at all.
