ISLIP - A family is making a plea for information as it continues its search for a West Islip man who disappeared more than a year ago.

Loved ones say 26-year-old Michael Taus was last heard from on June 18, 2010 before going on a Match.com date. They say his car was later found running on Wellington Road and 106th Avenue in Elmont.

Suffolk police say they've conducted an exhaustive investigation, but still don't know what happened to Taus. His mother, Barbara, says she believes her son is still alive and hopes that someone will be able to help.

Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or the Missing Persons Unit at 631-852-6040.
