HALESITE - Family and police are searching for a missing man from Suffolk County who has not been seen in days.

Laszlo Tar, 92, suffers from mild dementia and hearing loss. The Halesite man's family says he took a walk to Heckscher Park in Huntington Friday evening, but when his son went to pick him up, he was nowhere to be found.

Suffolk police have issued a silver alert and searched the area where he was last seen.

The family spent the day in Manhattan scouring different locations where he once frequented. They are urging the public to help find him.

He previously went missing seven years ago and turned up at Grand Central Station.

Tar, who goes by “Leslie," is an accomplished artist and former textile designer. He lives with his son and daughter-in-law in Halesite.

Anyone with information or who may have seen him is asked to call police at 631-854-8243.
