Family pleads for help in finding hit-and-run suspect

The family of a hit-and-run victim in Shirley is making a plea for help and justice. Police say Erika Hughes was killed just before midnight

SHIRLEY - The family of a hit-and-run victim in Shirley is making a plea for help and justice.

Police say Erika Hughes was killed just before midnight on July 28 in a hit-and-run accident in Shirley - and the driver still hasn't been found.

Now her friends and family are raising money for Brian, her husband, and her daughter, Gabriella, and are asking anyone with information on Erika's killer to come forward.

A fundraiser with bowling, music and an auction was put together by local merchants and friends. They gathered to celebrate Erika's life and help create a better one for her young daughter.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen what happened to call Suffolk Crimestoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
