OAK BEACH - The family of Shannan Gilbert gathered to hold a vigil and search for answers after police located her body.

Gilbert was last seen in May 2010 in the area around Oak Beach.

Her disappearance and subsequent search led police to find 10 sets of human remains and the hunt for a serial murder.

Shannan's mother, Mari Gilbert, says she came out to retrace her daughter's last steps and call for more investigation into her daughter's death.

Officials say they believe that the death was a result of an accidental drowning and not the result of the serial murderer responsible for the 10 other sets of remains.

Mari Gilbert says she is still waiting for the medical examiner to deliver its report.
