CENTRAL ISLIP - The family of a homeless man killed in a hit-and-run is making a plea for justice.
Milton Maldonado, 45, was struck on Church Street in Central Islip at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night.
Maldonado's siblings say their brother suffered an emotional breakdown after their mother died nearly two years ago. They say he was troubled, but he had a loving family that tried their best to help him.
Now, they only hope whoever killed Maldonado will be brought to justice.
Detectives urge anyone with information to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
