EAST SETAUKET - A Suffolk family who lost their loved one in a hit-and-run is pushing for his killer to come forward.

Joseph Santiago, 47, was struck by a vehicle on Ridgeway Avenue in East Setauket on August 23, 2013.

Freddie Eddins, Santiago’s brother, says it would bring their family closure if someone would turn themselves in.

“I think we'd probably be even more forgiving to see that they couldn't live with it and could put closure to a family that just can't understand why he had to die such a horrible death,” said Eddins.

Detectives are searching for a white Hyundai sedan in connection to the case. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
