CORAM - Family and friends are remembering two teens killed in a horrific crash this weekend. The first wake for 19-year-old Jacqueline Salvador of Ridge was held in Coram last night.
The wakes continued today for Salvador and 17-year-old Ryan Baumgartner, of Rocky Point.
The teens were passengers in an SUV that slammed into a tree on the William Floyd Parkway in Ridge on Saturday.
The driver, Thomas Smith, is out on $150,000 bond and is facing charges that he was driving under the influence of drugs.
Prosecutors say Smith admits he was smoking pot and taking prescription muscle relaxants.
Smith could face upgraded charges of vehicular homicide after results from blood and urine samples are analyzed, police say.
