MEDFORD - The family of a man who was stabbed to death in Medford say the tragedy could have been prevented if someone answered the first phone call made to 911.

Alberta Murray says when she learned her nephew, Chauncey Scott, had been stabbed she called 911, but did not get a person on the line, only a recording.

Murray says she waited about 10 minutes before getting anyone on the line and now the family is seeking answers as to why there was a recording. Police hunt for suspect in deadly Medford stabbing
