MONTAUK - Long Islanders who lost loved ones during the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 are closely watching events unfold in Libya and waiting for Moammar Gadhafi's capture.

Many believe Gadhafi personally ordered the airplane bombing nearly 23 years ago. Peter Lowenstein, of Montauk, lost his 21-year-old son Alexander in the crash. He says he's thrilled to see Gadhafi's downfall, but is still waiting for justice to be served.

The plane exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, killing all 270 people on board. Libyan secret service agent Abdel Basset al-Megrahi was convicted a decade ago in connection with the bombing, but was later released.
