WOODBURY - ? Nassau police officer Joseph Olivieri?s kids are receiving help to pay for their education.

As News 12 Long Island has been reporting, Olivieri died last Thursday after being hit and killed while responding to a crash on the Long Island Expressway. News 12 Long Island has learned Olivieri?s children are receiving $40,000 to help pay for their education.

The Silver Shield Foundation helps children of officers and firefighters who died in the line of duty.

The foundation says it will donate $20,000 to each of his two children.
