WOODBURY - Electronic devices may not be banned on airplanes for much longer.

The FAA announced today that it is going to be easing the restrictions on the use of personal electronic devices aboard aircraft.

The agency says that each individual airline will determine its own rules during takeoff, landing and other portions of a flight.

The only time electronic devices will not be able to be used on an aircraft is during the flight safety video or safety presentation at the beginning of each flight.

Riders will still not be able to make cellphone calls during a flight. Cellphones will need to be turned into airplane mode.
