WOODBURY - All charges have been dismissed against former Nassau Legislator David Mejias, who was arrested last year in connection to an alleged stalking incident.

Mejias was accused of following his ex-girlfriend in a car, cutting her off, getting out and screaming at her.

In December, the stalking charges were dropped against the former lawmaker, and last week the remaining reckless endangerment charge was dismissed as well.

"Luckily, in this case the system worked," Mejias says. "All charges have been dismissed and I have been vindicated."

Last fall, the allegations forced Mejias to leave a state Senate race.
