Officials say the teen was wearing earphones and didn't realize the train was coming when he was struck. (January 28, 2014 11:20 AM)

Police say an East Moriches teen is alive after being hit by a train in Center Moriches.

MTA police say Eric Albrecht was trespassing on the tracks near Frowein Road and Chichester Avenue around 1 p.m. yesterday when the incident happened.

The 16-year-old was struck by an eastbound train, and police say he was wearing headphones and didn't realize a train was coming.
