OCEANSIDE - ? Polling sites across Long Island were impacted by Superstorm Sandy this election day.

There are changes across both Nassau and Suffolk counties to some voting places. The power remains out in as many as 70 polling sites in Nassau, and many of them ran on generators today.Voting sites in the hardest hit areas including Long Beach, Oceanside, East Rockaway and Island Park have been consolidated into a handful of larger polling sites.

Suffolk relocated eight of its polling places and dozens of others will be powered by generators. Affidavit voting was also permitted at New York polling sites for thsoe impacted by Sandy.
