Elderly poodle found tied up outside animal shelter

An elderly dog was found emaciated and abandoned in Suffolk County.

The miniature poodle was tied to the front gate of the Smithtown Animal Shelter with an oxygen tube on Tuesday.

SMITHTOWN - An elderly dog was found emaciated and abandoned in Suffolk County.

The miniature poodle was tied to the front gate of the Smithtown Animal Shelter with an oxygen tube on Tuesday.

The 14-year-old dog was severely neglected and covered in fleas.

The Suffolk SPCA tells News 12 they are looking for a dark-colored Ford that was seen driving away from the shelter.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Suffolk SPCA at 631-382-7722.
