LEVITTOWN - Fire officials say an elderly woman narrowly escaped injury when her Levittown home went up in flames today.

The woman's neighbor, Michael Sennay, says he was alerted at about 2 p.m. that she was trapped in her home.

"I broke the door down by punching and kicking and once I broke the door down, I saw the woman laying in bed with the fire right next to her," he says.

A volunteer firefighter helped Sennay get the woman out of the home.

An investigation into the fire is ongoing.
