SOUTHAMPTON - Ice is the main concern after the latest bout of winter weather brought a few fresh inches of snow to Long Island on Saturday.
Another round of snowfall began Saturday afternoon. Much of Long Island received a light dusting, while the East End took the brunt of it with several inches of accumulation.
Rock salt, ice melt, scrapers and snow shovels flew off the shelves at Herrick Hardware in the village of Southampton, as residents prepared for more accumulation.
On top of the ice, residents and drivers were told to be cautious of wind gusts and limited visibility.
