East End braces as flood concerns swell

Blizzard and coastal flood warnings have already been issued for most of Long Island ahead of tomorrow's storm. (February 7, 2013)

RIVERHEAD - The East End is bracing for flooding and power outages as a major winter storm makes its way toward the area.

Blizzard and coastal flood warnings have already been issued for most of Long Island ahead of tomorrow's storm. Areas like Riverhead that saw feet of floodwaters rush into streets and homes are bracing for the possibility of more flooding.

Riverhead Town Supervisor Sean Walter says flooding and erosion are as big a concern as the snow. He says that plows and salt trucks are ready to roll through the town's streets.
