WOODBURY - Good news for travelers: drivers are paying the lowest Labor Day gas prices in a dozen years.

The average U.S. gas price fell to $2.20 today, the lowest Labor Day price since 2004.

On Long Island, the average gas price is $2.35.

AAA predicts over 35 million people are on the road this holiday weekend - the most since 2008.

If you're taking the Long Island Rail Road today, remember that trains will operate on a regular holiday schedule.

Also, westbound Montauk trains that normally operate on Sundays during the summer will run this afternoon.
